Thank you for the post and including Sabet.tv! I'm proud to have so many talented people on the site, from all over the world.
My first design network is called www.mojizu.com, for character designers. It's very inspirational place with thousands of members and characters!

Ali Sabets last blog post..<a href="http://www.sabet.tv/xn/detail/u_hozcjj0kmtiz" rel="nofollow">Ali Sabet left a comment for Sharon Frost</a> (www.sabet.tv)

Great tip about embedding myartspace galleries onto other pages. I didn't know you could do that! Definitely the key to these social networks is connecting with people you want to be connected to and being able to ignore the rest if you want.

I guess I should have mentioned in the post that one thing you don't want to do on these sites is become a spammer. I often get completely impersonal spam messages of "check out my art!" from other artists. If you want to make a connection, talk to someone about what they're doing and start a conversation. Then get to your art when you're talking to someone who might care what you say. The same goes for passing out business cards. No one needs your business card until you've made some kind of impact that makes them think of you.

www.myartspace.com is a great site. You can find emerging artists on there as well as artists who are represented by mainstream galleries in New York. It is a great place to build a network and obtain serious feedback about your art from other members. It is also one of the few art sites that has yet to be flooded with anime type works. When I'm searching for an oil painting I want to find an oil painting, not an anime drawing that has been labeled wrong. The quality of work on the site is outstanding compared to other sites that I've been involved with. I also like that I can embed my galleries on other sites like www.myspace.com or www.livejournal.com and on blogger as well. Capabilities like that are useful for gaining exposure.
