    Kalonike

    Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

This is my latest painting! In the play Lysistrata, Kalonike is Lysistrata’s neighbor who enjoys feminine things and is glad she has a chance to wear her shearest clothes which she dyes yellow. This is a set with my last painting, so I’m selling them together.

    Kalonike: Work in Progress

    Monday, June 27th, 2005

I’ve been working on this one today. The pose is still bugging me. Her right leg needs to be turned in more. Also, I’m thinking more transparency in the clothes? Iunno yet.

    Handbuilt Pot

    Sunday, June 26th, 2005

3″ tall x 4″ wide. Made with stoneware clay with chocolate and black glaze.
I gave it to my mom who put it on the glass display and planted it with bamboo and rocks.

    Myrrhine

    Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005

    “Myrrhine”
    12″x4.5″ acrylic on canvas
In the play Lysistrata, all the women are withholding sex to stop the war. Myrrhine is sent to entice her husband teasing him with the chance to sleep together, but she delays again and again.
This was from a sheet of costume designs for my theatre class last semester. I cut [...]

    Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow

    Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

Yesterday, I walked out of class and a group of students from my class were talking outside of the arts building. So of course I went and tried to join in with the group. They look at me like I’m crazy. “Oh you have a question about the class?” “Oh no, I was [...]

    Friday, June 17th, 2005

I got a new digital camera. My friend Jonathan helped me pick one out! Yay. (Note, he’s hot.) An Olympus C3030 on Ebay for less than $100 including shipping. Here’s a tour of my room!
This is my art table where I paint and things like that. You can see the last one [...]

    Not Friends Only

    Sunday, June 5th, 2005

I watched the movie “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” yesterday. One thing I liked was the way they talked about how not knowing doesn’t mean that you aren’t responsible. That’s one thing I have always believed. You can’t always be a victim. If I say “I didn’t know this would happen” doesn’t mean that [...]

    Losing Steam

    Friday, June 3rd, 2005

I’m never careful enough. I just made rice and I saw all the steam coming out of the rice cooker. “Oh that’s kind of cool.” I opened it and the steam burned part of my right hand. My whole life is like that.
It’s not part of my hand that I ever use, but [...]
